What to do after arriving in Barcelona
Ideally, you should arrange to arrive in Barcelona on the Sunday before your course starts. We will send you the full address of your accommodation, before you arrive.
If you need to arrive a day earlier, this may be possible, but let us know, so that we can arrange an extra night’s accommodation for you.
On arriving in Barcelona, you should go directly to your accommodation.
It is very important that you inform us of your expected time of arrival, so that we can make sure that someone is at your accommodation, to let you in, when you arrive.
You should then arrive at our school at 08.00 on the first morning of your course
Arriving at Barcelona EL Prat Airport: If you arrive at Barcelona Airport, you can take the Airport Bus to Plaza Cataluña. This bus costs less than 6 euros, one way. From Plaza Cataluña, you can take a taxi, or the Metro, to your accommodation.
Or, you can take a taxi from Barcelona Airport to your accommodation. This should cost about 25 euros.
Alternatively, we can arrange an airport transfer for you.
If your arrival is delayed, or if you have some other emergency regarding your arrival, you should first of all telephone the school main telephone number. If our offices are closed, contact the emergency telephone number.
The nearest Metro station is Urgell.
The buses that pass nearest to our school are 21, 37,41, 50, 55, 59, 66, 91, 120; H12 y H16; V11 y V13.
You should arrive at our school at 08.00 on the first day of your course.
If you are not a complete beginner in Spanish, you will have a level test (written and spoken), so that we can place you in a group which is correct for your language level.
If you are a complete beginner, you will obviously not have a level test, but will join a beginners group.
We will also show you around the school, as well as around the centre of Barcelona.
You will be invited to attend a ‘Welcome Party’ that evening, at the school, where you will be able to meet other students.
It is natural that you may be worried about our first day, but you should not be – We want you to settle in quickly and we will do all we can to make you feel at ease and happy to be in Barcelona!
