The Christmas Fair at the Sagrada Família has been around since the 1960s and has become one of the most traditional Christmas markets in the Eixample, with about 100 stalls selling gifts and decorations.

This Christmas market is held along the Gran Via, in the streets Entença y Muntaner. The market is divided into two different sections, the toy market in the area close to Plaza Catalunya and the craft market, near to Plaza España.

The main Christmas market in Barcelona is held in Plaza Nova (Plaza de la Catedral), in front of the magnificent Gothic Cathedral, in the Gothic Quarter, the ancient center of the city. In the Christmas market - a traditional festival of Barcelona - are sold figurines for nativity scenes, Christmas trees, decorations, candy and crafts.

Sagrada Familia Fira de Nadal

Snow at Casa Batlló

Places of interest

A visit to the Casa Battló, whose facade is going to be covered with snow. If you go inside you'll see more snow thanks to special effects designed to look like falling snowflakes. The Patio Modernista will also feature a holiday scene, complete with a big Christmas tree.

The christmas spirit is flying over the whole Spanish village, in which you can find the interesting peculiarity of Catalan traditions, such as the living Nativity scene (Martorelles, 9th december, and Sant Feliu de Llobregat, 10th december) or visit "Tio" and join his activities.
